Minutes of meeting held on 8th May 2002 at 7.30pm

1.

Minutes of Meeting held on 10th April 2002

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved apart from the error in the clean up date.

2.

Police Report

 

There had been three crimes reported since the last meeting: a theft from the St Vincent's site, theft of a motor cycle and breach of the peace off Dennistoun Road.

3.

Planning

There were three new applications: a) Porch in Middlepenny Place. b) Decking in Station Road. c) Renovation of St Vincent's Lodge. Two appeals to the Scottish Executive were pending: Alisheath, Houston Road & Undercraig.

4.

Registered Weed

 

Ian Reid will contact Amey again.

5.

Doggy Bin/Litter Bin

It was agreed that we would request further bins through the Local Grant Committee. Further the use of Doggy Bins will be highlighted in the next Church Newsletter.

6.

Newspaper Bins

 

It was noted that the bins at the Village Centre have now been moved.

7.

Flood Prevention

 

It is hoped that the landscaping at Langlea Gate may reduce the effects of flooding.

8.

Tree Preservation

 

According to Crawford Russell, Head of Planning at Renfrewshire Council, all trees on the St.Vincent's Site are covered by a Tree Preservation Order.

9.

Railtrack

Work is still ongoing and it is understood that Scottish Water will not start their operation until Railtrack have completed their work.

10.

Draft Local Plan

A number of objections have been made to the Local Draft Plan; two from firms and one from a local resident. In view of this the Community Council will write to Renfrewshire Council strongly supporting the view that the Green Belt be retained as it is at present. Following discussions it was agreed that individual members of the Community Council should also write and that we should encourage as many local residents to do likewise. 11.

Community Council Forum

Neil attended the recent inaugural meeting and gave a detailed résumé of the proceedings. Papers on the subject have since been issued for discussion at our next meeting.
