Minutes of the Meeting held on the 10th of January 2001

1.

Police Report.

 

One reported crime -Domestic.
It is anticipated that the Peugeot 206 which has been abandoned on the Main Road, for some months will be removed inside the week.

 

2.

 

Minutes of the last meeting approved.

 

3.

Internet Cafe.

 

Following a review of the Community Council Balance Sheet, it was agreed that a donation of £60 should be made to the Internet Café. Following further discussion, it was felt that the Church Management Committee should take on the role of establishing a constitution for the Café after which funds may be available from other sources.

 

4.

St Vincent's.

 

This planning issue is still ongoing. The union dispute has not helped the situation. We have written regarding the traffic lights and they have now been included in the proposal. Additional improved plans have been requested from the Architect by the Planning Department.

 

5.

Planning Applications

 

No applications concerning Langbank have been submitted this month.

 

6.

Playing Field Area

 

The drainage changes appear to have been successful for the first time in years. The pavements and roads are dry. Ian Reid to write to Head of Roads to thank Ian McCallum who arranged the work.

 

7.

Doggy Bins

 

This is still ongoing because of the Unison dispute.

 

8.

Community Services

 

D. McLean will progress things as soon as the weather improves.

 

9. 

Sewage
 

Still no reply to Community Council letter to West of Scotland Water. Complaint sent to E. Chambers, Chief Executive.
 

10.

Speeding
 

Article on speeding in Seath & Douglas Avenues still to appear in the Gazette.
 

11.

Roads Issues
 

Meeting to be held with I. Snodgrass, Director of Planning & Roads and Roads Convenor to prioritise Roads repairs etc. The meeting is in Linwood and M Anderson and I Reid will attend.

14th February 2001 at 7.30 p.m. in the Upper Church Hall.
