Police Report.

3 Crimes:
Attempted break in at Gleddoch House -nothing stolen.
Car abandoned latterly with no insurance. Driver prosecuted.
Case of domestic crime

Minutes approved and adopted.

 

3.

Planning Permission

 

Application has been made for a conservatory at Woodside Cottage, Main Road.
Formal application has now been registered for the house in Houston Road. There was a lengthy discussion on this topic and it was finally agreed that the reservations on the 'Green Belt' issue would be communicated to Renfrewshire Council.
There was still no further detail on the proposed traffic lights on Middlepenny Road.

Registered Weed

 

Amey Ltd. have now responded that they are preparing a Landscape Action Plan.They also confirmed that it may not be the best time of the year to treat Japanese Knotweed. However a confirmatory letter will follow.

Grass Verges

 

On a positive note it was confirmed that the grass verges had been cut. On the negative side the litter on the verges has now been highlighted.

Playing Field Wall and Marypark Access Path

 

Marion Anderson will follow up on the clearance of the Marypark access path and lan Reid will contact Community Services staff re the Station Path wall if still no progress.

 

7.

Village Hall

 

Henry Gray has not contacted Marion Anderson and as the items are still outstanding Marion will speak to Gordon Guthrie to seek clarification.

 

8. 

Doggy Bin etc. Local Committee Grant
 

The grant application to the Local Area Committee was approved. Additional doggy bin, waste paper bin for the station exit and a filing cabinet for Community Council use were agreed.
The doggy bin will be located on the grass area on Station Road down from the existing grit bin.

Station Road
 

The gas main replacement work on Station Road is due to be completed on Friday 19th October and resurfacing of the road will commence on Monday 29 October,traffic control mainly. A copy of the fax details provided to M. Anderson is on the notice board.
 

10.

Road Sweeping etc

Ian Reid had been in touch with John Gilmour of Renfrewshire Council's Environmental Services. There will now be a weekly mechanical sweep and a hand clean within the village.
Councillor Anderson intends proposing that Renfrewshire Council tightens the anti-litter byelaws in a similar way to Angus, Fife and Edinburgh Councils

Road Maintenance

There will be no link path between Middlepenny and the Station via St. Vincent's.

12.

Local Plan

Neil Barrington gave a comprehensive report on the Local Plan meeting held on the evening of 25 September.He asked for comments as soon as possible.

13.

Review of Community Councils

The timetable for this review has been delayed for approximately 4 weeks.

14.

Proposed Extension to Local Sewerage Scheme

Because of apparent delays Ian Reid will progress this issue.

15.

Insurance and Membership of Scottish Assoc. of Community Councils

The details of this have now been finalised and the Church notified accordingly.
