Minutes of Meeting held on 11th October 2000

Attending: Councillor M. Anderson, (Mrs MacDonald, Mrs
Buchanan and Miss Buchanan. initially).

St
Vincent’s Proposals Objections
were heard on the building proposals for Plots 1 to 4. |

Planning
Applications : The
Planning Application for Undercraig Cottage has been withdrawn. The
revised Planning Application for St. Vincent's has now been received
by the Planning Department and officially registered. Planning Meeting
5th November 2000. Some
alterations to be made to Gleddoch Gate House. |

St
Vincent’s & Station Road Sites The
moving of earth between the two sites seems to have ceased. Though it
was noted that it had been a major nuisance. Additionally the road and
pavement surfaces in Station Road have been damaged. |

Playing
Field Area Marion
Anderson and Ian Reid had a meeting with Bernard Forteath, Director
of Environmental Services, concerning the flooding onto the pavement
and roadway. It
is tied in with the flooding survey due by December, but a Roads Engineer
will check in the short term to see if a 'quick fix' can be carried
out. The cut back of trees/ undergrowth on the path has been carried
out |

Local
Area Cash Funding The
doggy bin situation has still to be fina1ised. A request is to be prepared
for a litter bin to be placed beside the picnic table in the playing
field. Deirdre McLean is to speak to Community Service staff and it
is hoped to finalise proposals at the next meeting. |

Roads
Issues During
the month,Marion Anderson and Ian Reid attended a meeting with Iain
Hamilton, Head of Roads, Renfrewshire Council. The items were: 1.
Kerbing in Houston Road
(now complete) 2.
Red patches at Village
entrance to be painted with “SLOW” 3.
30 mph sign to be erected
on Houston Road following Scottish executive approval 4.
Traffic humps on Station
and Denistoun Road will be no more than 3 inches high. 5.
Traffic lights on Middlepenny
Road are essential for road safety purposes. The design has not yet
been finalised. Community Council will receive plans on completion of
the design. 6. Although traffic calming plans for Main Road
have been produced there is no question of public funding. The plans
have been passed to interested parties on Main Road. |

A.O.C.B. There
was a discussion on the outline plans from West of Scotland Water to
amend the sewerage proposals. There was little agreement on the idea
of retaining the two tanks in the playing field.
Letter of objection to be sent to West of Scotland Water. Copy
of their letter to Gordon Pettigrew , Head of Parks & Cemeteries,
Renfrewshire Council. |
