Minutes of the Meeting held on the 14th of February 2001

1.

Police Report.

 

One Drug seizure on a local farm.

One car stolen in Elmbank Road. Keys stolen through the letterbox. Police have asked us to be vigilant. Neighbourhood watch to be alerted to the problem. 'Do not leave keys in view or in the back of the door'

 

2.

Middlepenny Road

 

Residents of Middlepenny Road/Place have raised very serious concern with regard to the lack of gritting in the Winter Months. The issue has been raised with Councillor Anderson, who has taken the problem up with Ian Hamilton at RC. All the residents to write letters raising their fears. The Community Council will write to support the line being taken by M Anderson. RC removed the Gritting Bin in the first place) .

 

3.

Registered Weed

 

Japanese Knotweed is very abundant at the front of the village. To keep this weed under control, a herbicide has to be used. The CC is to write to the Council and raise the issue with them. The local Planning Authority is aware of the problem

Internet Café.

 

Grant of £60.00 still to be paid over to the Group

 

5.

St Vincent's Development

 

Planning Application approved by one vote at the Council Meeting. No retrospective applications are allowed. Traffic calming measures are to be in places prior to any start of the work on this area of the village

Planning Applications

 

None received this month

 

7.

Playing Fields

 

Are in working order. A special vote of thanks to our Councillor M Anderson who has worked tirelessly on our behalf.

 

8.

Doggy Bins

 

Unison strike over and this should now take place. The positions of the bins are at the Village Hall Site and Playing Fields.

Community Service
 

Still waiting for the arrival of the good weather. .

Sewage Problem
 

Still waiting to hear from the Chief Executive.
 

11.

West of Scotland Water Authority
 

A planned presentation will be arranged for the next open meeting of the Council.
 

12.

Road Issues
 

Work to be done in all areas of the village to improve the Road Surface
