Minutes of the Meeting held on the 8th of November 2000

Present:           N Barrington, I Reid, D McLean, T Bell, J Hunter, G FlemmingD Brunton,  M Anderson, B Southwood.

Attending:        PC Gemmell.

Apologies:       G Harkness,  D Rodwell.

1.

Police Report.

 

Four recorded crimes in the village.

(Two cars broken into, one house breaking and Langbank Lodge broken into) Enquires ongoing into all four. Police advise extra vigilance as always .

 

2.

St Vincent's Proposals.

 

Amended Planning Application to be lodged on the 28-11­-00. Debate as to the size and height of the houses planned. Councillor Anderson to visit site with Council Officials.

 

3.

Undercraig Farm House.

 

Planning permission had been refused for a replacement house on the above site. CC help sought to change Council decision. The problem is that it is Green Belt land. Owner intends to appea1 to the Scottish Executive .

Minutes of the last meeting approved.

Planning Applications

 

Nothing pending

 

6.

Playing Field Area

 

Bramble Bushes to be cut back to allow inspection of site by Council Officials. This is to help identify problem of flooding in the Playing Field .

Under this item Mr Mitchell of Undercraig Farm informed us that he has been helping to maintain the local hedges, which is fact the duty of the Council. Councillor Anderson to write to the Council informing of this helpful act .

 

7.

Doggy Bins

 

Council Policy is that each Ward is to receive four free bins. Langbank is to get two free. Positions to be agreed. Councillor Anderson to follow this up. Possible sites are, Football Pitch and also Village Hall. This was agreed to be the most suitable positions .

Under this item, Ms D McLean to follow up with the Community Service People that there are areas within the village that could do with their attention.

 

8.

Road Issues.

 

Traffic Lights on Middlepenny Rd - no sign of any movement . This is very much a saftey issue and is part of the Planning Application.

No funding available from the Council regarding Traffic Calming Measures on the Main Rd .

 

9. 

West of Scotland Water Authority

No response regarding sewage proposals

10.

Vote of thanks was proposed to Ian Rocke for his Chairmanship of the Community Council over the last eighteen months. His resignation was due to Work Commitments. In the mean time Neil Barrington has agreed to take on the duties of Chairman with Mr Southwood acting as his Vice-Chairman

11.
